Here I am, watching some random Australian toddler learning show on you-tube, overdue for a pump, fatigued but too shaky for another cup of coffee, and worried about the cold snap that's running through the Midwest this week. It's a typical Tuesday.
A little bit about me: I am a 31 year-old Wisconsinite living with my three dogs, cat, husband, (almost) 2 year-old and 4-month-old. I'm not perfect, and I don't plan to ever be. I've also never been normal, and I'm sure as hell not going to start trying to be now. But I'm honest, kind, empathetic and hard-working. I don't have a lot of friends and that's ok. You can find me drumming up new recipes on any given day where I don't have children needing me. My cocktail of choice is red wine along with a little bit of cheese, but love the regular Spotted Cow to up my supply (at least that's what I tell myself.) I'm new to being a Mom and I'm loving it, and I can tell you that it is incredibly exhausting. But I wouldn't trade this role for anything; I've been waiting my whole life for it.
This blog is for my personal parenting stories, tips and tricks I've learned along my path, and hopefully a way to reach out to other Moms exactly like me. They say it takes a village to raise a child, but I don't see it happen as often as I'd like to. Let's change that. Come with me as I try to navigate this new role, whilst trying to live minimal, and rid the house of toxins slowly and successfully.
